Judges 13–16

Un hombre de fuerza extraordinaria aprende que el verdadero poder viene de Dios.

Before he was even born, an angel promised Samson's parents: the boy would be a Nazirite, set apart for God from the cradle — his hair would never be cut, a visible sign of an invisible covenant. He grew stronger than any other Israelite, in a time when the people lived oppressed by the Philistines. Samson's strength did not come from his muscles: it came from a calling he carried, sometimes carelessly, on his shoulders.

He tore apart a lion with his bare hands, pulled down a city's gates alone, defeated whole armies with the jawbone of a donkey. Each victory was a reminder that God was with him — but Samson grew careless with the secret he carried. He fell in love with Delilah, whom the Philistines bribed to discover the source of that strength.

Three times he lied, playing with danger. The fourth time, worn down by her nagging, he told the truth: his uncut hair was the sign of the covenant. Delilah lulled him to sleep and had his hair cut off. He woke up not realizing his strength had left with the hair — and with the carelessness of his heart.

Blinded and chained, he became a laughingstock in the temple of Dagon. But his hair began to grow back, and with it a sincere prayer: "Remember me, Lord, just once more." He pushed against the pillars with all the strength he had left. The temple collapsed. Samson died alongside the enemies who mocked God — the final victory of a life of ups and downs.

Reflexión

Samson had an enormous gift and a careless heart. His strength was never the problem — it was thinking he could play with what was sacred without losing anything along the way. We all carry something set apart: a gift, a promise, a calling. This story asks: what have you been treating as a toy that is actually a covenant? Even after so many falls, God still heard Samson's last prayer. He hears yours too.
