Daniel 6

Daniel ora a Dios y es protegido entre los leones.

Daniel was a Jew in exile, far from home, but faithful as one who keeps his heart in the right place. He served the king with such wisdom that jealous men set a trap: a decree forbidding prayer to anyone except the king himself. Daniel heard, understood — and opened his window as always. Three times a day, on his knees, as one who does not bargain with whom he loves.

They brought him before the king. The law was clear; Darius's heart ached, but he ordered Daniel thrown into the lions' den. The stone rolled. Night came. Imagine the silence of the pit — and the calm breath of one who trusts. Darius fasted. He did not sleep. At dawn he ran shouting: "Daniel, has your God delivered you?"

Daniel answered with a steady voice: "My God sent his angel and shut the lions' mouths." Not a scratch. His enemies fell into the same pit; Daniel came out unharmed. The integrity that seemed costly became testimony before an entire empire.

All Babylon learned: there is a God who keeps those faithful to him, even when human law threatens. Daniel returned to the palace — not victorious from pride, but from gratitude.

Reflexión

Praying when it is forbidden, doing right when it costs dearly — Daniel knew that. Perhaps no one will send you to a lions' den, but silent pressures exist: give in, stay quiet, pretend. Daniel's open window is a small and enormous gesture. Daily faithfulness builds courage for the dark night. God did not promise absence of lions — he promised presence in the midst of them.
